Functions as HRMA liaison to the NJ state affiliate of SHRM, the Garden State Council (GSC) and coordinates chapter support for GSC initiatives such as the state conference.
Provides an open exchange of current information, resources, education, and best practices regarding the ever changing health care landscape.
Coordinates the logistics of monthly membership meetings, including locating and arranging facilities, menu selection, reservation management, name badges, and check in.
Seeks to increase the number of chapter members who are certified PHR/SPHR by the Human Resource Certification Institute by providing instructional assistance and supports certified professionals by providing programming that is approved for HRCI credit.
Provides a forum and programs to help HR professionals sharpen their leadership skills and identify ways in which they can initiate or support leadership development initiatives within their organizations.
Monitors pending legislative, regulatory and legal action at the federal, state, and local level that may have an impact on the management of human resources. Informs members of impending changes and encourages active participation in shaping legislation impacting the HR profession.
Seeks to increase chapter membership via outreach activities and manages the on-boarding process for new members.
Plans programs for chapter meetings including arranging for speakers to present on topics of relevance to the HR profession.
Educates, promotes, and represents the interests of the SHRM Foundation and its activities to the Chapter.
Identify and acquire sponsors for chapter meetings and events and advertisers for website who are willing to assist the chapter financially in return for an opportunity to promote their product or service to members. Conduct benchmarking and networking activities necessary for creating a viable sponsor program. Serves as the focal point for advertising and coordinates requests and delivery. Implements and monitors compliance with the "HRMA Policy on Advertising and Sponsorships by Members, Vendors and Supporters." Committee is part of the Communications Team.
Ensures mentorship of the two student chapters forming a liaison between HRMA and the students and provides a scholarship program to recognize outstanding student achievement aligned with HRMA professional goals.
Works in cooperation with workforce readiness advocates to identify community needs and develop programs the HRMA can deliver to assist with workforce readiness.
